DLL wins Sustainability Awards from the Arena International Events Group

EINDHOVEN, THE NETHERLANDS, May 11, 2023 DLL, a global asset finance company for equipment and technology, received the 2023 ‘Best ESG Initiative of the Year: Social Aspects’ and ‘Best Give me a New Life Funding Programme’ Awards from the Arena International Events Group. The awards ceremony was held in Paris, France at the Arena International Events Group’s Sustainable Finance Summit.

The Awards

The ‘Best ESG Initiative of the Year - Social Aspects’ Awardrecognizes major initiatives undertaken by a lessor in the ESG/Social domain, either within their company or outside. Judges considered concrete cases of various initiatives regarding social programs and diversity, equity and inclusion at work.

The awards jury cited: “This is an award for which we have received many entries, showing that the social aspects are taken really seriously. Human rights, ethical standards, equal opportunities for all, equal gender distribution in leadership are at the top of the ESG agenda of our winner. Supported by several initiatives such as the social impact strategy, social inclusion campaign, ‘Advisors for a Better World’, donations and many more make DLL the winner of the Best ESG Initiative of the Year - Social Aspects Award.”

The current environmental challenges are affecting economic as well as social lives around us. Since environmental degradation is intensifying, we also see that this is disproportionately impacting vulnerable populations,” says Marije Rhebergen, Head of Sustainability at DLL. “Even without the environmental lenses, there is a clear need in itself to pay attention to the social aspects of the sustainability agenda, also from the perspective of human rights and equal opportunities for all, for societies to flourish and be inclusive.”

The Best ‘Give me a New Life Funding Programme’ Award recognizes exemplary programs and/or initiatives that proactively and regularly financed secondhand equipment. Judges considered examples of proven redeployment of used equipment to third parties.

The awards jury cited: “The award is recognizing the operational capacities to implementing, not just for giving a new life to only one single specific asset category, but to multiple categories. The judges were particularly impressed by the ability of this asset finance leader by giving new life to a wide range of assets such as ambulances, machinery, IT equipment, tractors, the list is pretty long. This company demonstrated also several new strategies, practical approaches to non-standard reuse capabilities, multiple partnerships and community-based initiatives. The winner of the Best Give me a New Life Funding Programme is DLL.”

Urgency to Act

DLL is conscious of its responsibility towards the environmental challenges the world is facing. We view the current developments as a trigger to look at sustainability from a new – and more pressing – perspective.

We believe that our unique circular business models and solutions can be a catalyst for transitioning to a more sustainable future. Our aim is to support our partners and help them navigate their critical transition journeys with solutions that promote more efficient forms of utilization, extend the life of assets and enhance resource circularity.
