Farleigh Wada Witt congratulates Gustavo (“Tavo”) J. Cruz, Jr. on being elected Chair of the Board of Commissioners for Prosper Portland (fka the Portland Development Commission).  Prosper Portland commissioners are nominated by Portland’s Mayor and approved by the City Council.  Tavo has been a Commissioner since 2015, and he brings more than 30 years of business experience and law practice to the Board.  
  
Tavo’s law practice focuses on commercial finance and other business transactions.  He has extensive experience in both private practice and as in-house counsel, and has handled negotiation and documentation of commercial loan transactions, distressed loans and work-outs, securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions and other business matters.  He is a native of Portland, Oregon, and a graduate of the University of Oregon and Lewis and Clark Law School.
