PEAC Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Asset Management to lead our dedicated business unit focused on Construction, Transportation, Industrial, and Material Handling assets. This role involves setting residuals, equipment valuations, creating residual matrices, remarketing equipment, inspections, repossessions, and end-of-term management. This position reports to the SVP, Head of Asset Management.
Responsibilities
Setting Residuals and Equipment Valuations: Determine the future value of the equipment at the end of the lease term and assess the current market value of construction and material handling equipment. considering factors such as age, condition, and market supply and demand.
Creating residual matrices: Develop and maintain matrices that predict the future value of leased equipment.
Create and maintain specific M&R provisions based on the equipment type.
Market awareness: industry trends, market conditions, legislation, environmental requirements that could impact asset values on our books for setting residuals for new business.
Annual residual reviews: identify any potential triggering events and evaluate the event to determine if there is a permanent impairment or no impairments are necessary of the booked residual.
Remarketing Equipment: Sell or lease the equipment once the initial lease has ended. Develop and implement effective remarketing strategies for off-lease and repossessed equipment. Manage and monitor lease returns to ensure equipment is delivered back in a timely manner and in compliance with our Maintenance and Return Provisions.
Maintain relationships: with dealers, auction houses, brokers, and other sales channels and provide practical recovery territories to provide adequate coverage in support of the Business Unit.
Process Improvements: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the asset management lifecycle to minimize asset risk within the portfolio.
Inspections and Repossessions: Oversee the inspection process for returned equipment and manage the repossession of equipment when necessary.
End of Term Management: Manage the process when a lease ends, which may include equipment return, extension of the lease, or sale of the equipment to the lessee. Meet or exceed assigned income targets from end of term activities.
Team Management: When applicable, lead and manage assigned asset managers, fostering a collaborative environment and encouraging professional growth.
Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on asset management activities and performance to the SVP, Head of Asset Management.
Collaborate: with operations, collections, credit, and legal team to streamline processes, improve the customer experience, and trouble shoot and resolve process breakdowns.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred) or equivalent experience.
Experience in equipment leasing and finance industry, not required but preferred.
Strong knowledge of equipment, remarketing tactics, and end of term strategy within the assigned Business Unit’s core markets.
Excellent negotiation, leadership, communication skills, problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze market data and make informed decisions.
Excellent computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, and work as part of a team.
Ability to travel as needed.
