tukwila, Washington, Due to a pending retirement, we have an opening for a Corporate Credit Manager who will be a member of Corporate Services and reports to the Vice President and CFO. This position is located in Tukwila, Washington and will lead internal credit managers and credit specialist teams located in Washington, Alaska and Montana. Harnish Group Inc. is the Caterpillar Dealer in Central and Western Washington, Central and Eastern Montana, Northwestern Wyoming, Northwestern North Dakota and the state of Alaska. Our Mission is to help our customers succeed by providing premier business solutions delivered by engaged employees through teamwork and excellence.  Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Business Management: Coordinate the structuring, financing and selling of equipment sales and administer appropriate customer financing according to company policy and practices. Train equipment sales staff on financing and programs as needed. Provide leadership and guidance to regional credit departments including analysis, investigation and approval of credit and associated risk within established guidelines. Promote good working relationships with business unit executives and teams. Lead and coordinate executive management involvement in discussions and decisions regarding credit risk issues. Record transactions and disputes according to Company policy and practice and ensure collections are actively managed within Company protocols. Develop an annual Business Plan. Establish, revise, train and communicate where necessary company Credit policies and procedures. Represent the company in Caterpillar Dealer level committees or projects as requested.   Customer Account Management:   Develop and maintain productive professional customer relationships by conducting monthly visits. Review and recommend changes to customer credit limits as needed. Develop processes, procedures and establish strategies for managing delinquent accounts, recuperating debt, and develop recommendations for negotiating alternative payment options. Maintain key reports that include updates on Potential Loss, Past Due, Bad Debts, Service Charges Outstanding, A/R Summary and regularly review with internal customers and regional credit teams. Ensure strong relationships are developed with Caterpillar’s local representatives.   People Management: Lead and manage all functions of Regional Credit Department teams located in Alaska, Montana and Washington. Planned travel to primary branches on a quarterly basis is required. Administer company credit policy and procedures with credit teams. Provide leadership and support on problematic accounts and coordinate training in these areas as needed. Personal Attributes, Experience, and Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or similar field or minimum of fifteen years’ related experience is preferred. Proven work experience as a Credit Manager is required and membership and/or active involvement in the National Association of Credit Management (NACM) is a plus. Extensive experience with credit analysis, proficiency with general accounting practices and strong credit analysis skills. Experience in assessing creditworthiness of customers and customizing credit within company policy. Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with internal and external teams under stressful circumstances. Must represent the Credit Department and Company with a high degree of professionalism.
