Emerging mothers in the equipment finance industry - Despite increasing representation in the equipment finance industry, women, particularly new mothers, are still facing challenges in this traditionally male-dominated field. Members of ELFA’s Emerging Talent Advisory Council share their perspective and offer pointers on what your company can do to help emerging mothers stay and thrive in our industry. 

Engaging emerging talent - Members of the Emerging Talent Advisory Council have felt the impact of the “Great Resignation,” with colleagues switching companies, moving to new roles or exiting the industry altogether. The Great Resignation begs the question for ELFA member companies: Are we meeting the needs of younger talent? March Executive Roundtable a Success   

The Executive Roundtable brought top equipment finance executives to Amelia Island, Florida, in mid-March to discuss the latest trends impacting the industry today, to strategize about the future and to create lasting business relationships. At the event, thought leaders shared their insights into the economy; the supply chain and its impact on our industry; the war on talent; and performance, pay and talent trends for a rapidly changing workforce. Featured speakers included Johnny C. Taylor, President and Chief Executive Officer at the Society for Human Resource Management; Lindsey Pollack, Multigenerational Workplace Expert; and John E. Silvia, PH.D., CEO and Founder of Dynamic Economic Strategy and Managing Director and Chief Economist for Wells Fargo, Retired.

Investors Conference Meets in the Big Apple

The IMN/ELFA Investors Conference on Equipment Finance took place March 30 at The Union League Club in New York City. This annual event focuses on educating investors and equipment finance companies about the latest industry trends and developments. The packed agenda covered a wide range of topics from innovations emerging in the equipment finance industry to regulatory and legal challenges at the forefront of the sector. The Equipment Finance Hall of Fame annually recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the industry and the association. Learn about the 2022 nomination criteria and deadlines on the Equipment Finance Hall of Fame website at www.elfaonline.org/hof. A candidate is eligible for consideration to the Hall of Fame after three years of separation from active, full-time dedicated employment. The nomination deadline is May 13, 2022.


Award Recognizes Innovation  

Operational creativity, customer centricity and innovative efficient business processes—these are the differences between highly successful organizations and those that simply survive. The Operations & Technology Excellence Award identifies and recognizes equipment leasing and finance companies that demonstrate these characteristics and more. Submissions are due June 20. Jeff Quigley Joins ELFA Staff

Jeff QuigleyJeff Quigley has  joined ELFA as Vice President of Finance & Administration. He will oversee the association’s finances and treasury operations as well as the daily administrative and operational requirements of the organization. Quigley brings 25 years of public accounting experience to ELFA. He progressed from Staff Auditor to Audit partner at the DC-based firm Tate and Tryon, which specialized exclusively in nonprofit organizations. In addition to serving a diverse portfolio of nonprofit organizations, Quigley conducted a wide variety of consulting engagements from internal control analysis to mergers and acquisitions. Quigley concluded his public accounting career at RSM after its acquisition of Tate and Tryon. He earned a B.S. in accounting from Virginia Tech. Quigley succeeds Paul Stilp, who recently retired after serving as a member of the ELFA staff for 18 years.
