STRIPES Leadership Announces Kara Miyasato, CLFP, Director of Marketing at Stryker Flex Financial to Lead Master Talk on Embracing Diverse Perspectives

[Narberth, PA]: STRIPES Leadership Program, the professional and personal leadership development program designed to challenge and inspire best-in-class leaders within the Equipment Finance industry in partnership with Monitor, announced that industry leader Kara Miyasato, CLFP -- Director of Marketing at Stryker Flex Financial -- will lead a Master Talk on Embracing Diverse Perspectives.

This Master Talk will provide tangible tools to create a diverse environment when building a team or a network. In this Master Talk, a panel of leaders will share perspectives from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions and share their own observations. “Everyone comes to the table with different experiences which lead to unique perspectives—it’s critical to make sure these diverse perspectives are heard and celebrated,” said Miyasato.

STRIPES Leadership Program is a 10 month, rich and unique leadership development experience. With a mixture of assessments, master talks are just one component of the comprehensive program tapestry including master workshops, mentor modules, breakthrough discussions, and leadership development plans. Launching in September 2021, the program will cultivate a transformative journey to leadership advancement. The curriculum is designed to present opportunities for participants to expand both personally and professionally to enhance their leadership potential.

About Kara Miyasato:
Kara Miyasato is the Director of Marketing for Stryker’s financial services business, Flex Financial. In this role, she leads a team responsible for product development, marketing communications, sales training, and business analytics for North America and Europe. She sits on the Flex Financial leadership team.

In 2007, Kara began her career at Stryker at Stryker Endoscopy in San Jose, California. She relocated to Kalamazoo in 2008 and has held various individual contributor and management roles within Flex Financial in both operations and marketing. Her focus throughout her Stryker career has been customer engagement, continual process improvement, and employee development.

Kara currently serves on ELFA’s Women’s Council, ELFA’s Captive & Vendor Finance Business Council Steering Committee, and Monitor’s Editorial Board. She previously chaired ETAC, the Emerging Talent Advisory Council, and was identified as Monitor’s inaugural Next Generation Leader for their Industry Icon Awards.

Kara holds degrees in philosophy and economics from Santa Clara University, attained her Master’s degree in Finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, and is a Project Management Professional (PMP) as well as a Certified Lease & Finance Professional (CLFP). She sits on the board of directors for the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Orchestras and resides in Kalamazoo, Michigan with her husband, Cullen, and their son, Kai.
