On March 4, 2020, ELFA issued the following statement to ELFA members:
Dear ELFA Member:
Over the last week, COVID-19 Coronavirus has become a global topic of concern. We understand concerns about COVID-19 Coronavirus may be on the minds of individuals who plan to attend upcoming ELFA events. Our top priority remains the health and safety of all participants at ELFA events, including attendees, exhibitors, staff, industry partners and others involved.
As of today, March 4, all ELFA events are proceeding as scheduled. We are monitoring health professional advice and updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization regarding the COVID-19 Coronavirus and following the guidelines from these agencies and local health departments, and will make any necessary modifications to our event schedule as needed to ensure the health and safety of our members, staff, vendors and others.
At our upcoming events, our host venues will be taking measures such as providing alcohol-based hand sanitizer, more frequently disinfecting high-contact areas such as doorknobs and routinely cleaning the meeting space and hotel common areas.
We encourage our members to follow the travel restrictions in place at their origin and destination, and practice preventative measures such as those outlined by the World Health Organization
. We will continue to monitor this situation and update our membership via the ELFA website at www.elfaonline.org/events
