Posted 10/23/2017

Donations being accepted until the end of November

Orlando, Florida, October 23, 2017 - Today the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association launched the ELFA Hurricane Relief Hunger Project in partnership with Feeding Children Everywhere, a charity that empowers and mobilizes people to assemble healthy meals for hungry children. ELFA is encouraging members of the equipment finance community to contribute to this effort through a special website that is now accepting donations to support children and families in hurricane-devastated areas. ELFA will match up to $10,000 in donations made to the site.

ELFA President and CEO Ralph Petta announced the initiative this morning at the ELFA Annual Convention in Orlando. He noted that ELFA is supporting hurricane relief in three important ways:

  • ELFA Hurricane Relief Hunger Project website: All funds raised through the website, which will be accepting donations until the end of November, will support hurricane relief efforts in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico. A link to the site is available on the ELFA homepage at www.elfaonline.org. The direct URL is: https://iam.feedingchildreneverywhere.com/campaign/elfa-hurricane-relief-hunger-project/c149678
  • Community Service Project: During the ELFA Annual Convention on Oct. 22, attendees participated in a community service project with Feeding Children Everywhere. Members packed 20,000 healthy meal kits, which are being shipped to children in need in Puerto Rico.
  • Financial Donation: Thanks to the generosity of ELFA sponsors, as part of the community service project on Oct. 22, in addition to matching website donations the association donated $11,000 to support the Feeding Children Everywhere Puerto Rican hurricane relief effort, which isworking with FEMA to distribute 4.4 million meal kits to children and families in the region.
