ELFA is mourning the loss of long-time member and industry leader Richard J. Doherty, who passed away on Aug. 28.

Rich enjoyed a successful 43-year career in the equipment finance industry. He cultivated lifelong working friendships at numerous companies, including CIT Group, Bank of America, and, finally, PNC Bank, where he served as President of Equipment Leasing. Rich was passionate about his work, and was beloved by his colleagues.

Rich was a member of the Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation Board of Trustees from 2012 through 2014, and assumed the role of Treasurer from 2015 through 2017.

He graduated from Bethany College and earned his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Business School.
