TROY, Mich., (July 10, 2018) – Crestmark is proud to announce that Crestmark Chairman and founder Dave Tull has been elected to serve as chair of Oakland University’s (OU) Board of Trustees.

Tull was appointed to OU’s Board of Trustees in August 2014, and succeeds Richard (Ric) DeVore as chair. For each of the last two years, Tull has served as the Board’s vice chair, and his new appointment takes effect in August at the Board’s next formal meeting.

“It’s an honor to serve with my colleagues on the Board, and I’m looking forward to continuing our work in the role of chair,” said Tull. “Ric has done a tremendous job leading the Board for the past two years. We’re seeing a lot of progress on campus with the Oakland Center expansion, new housing and other developments. It’s certainly an exciting time to step into this new role.”

Tull founded Troy, Michigan-based Crestmark in 1996 to help small- and medium-sized businesses access working capital from their existing assets such as accounts receivable or inventory. The company now serves a national marketplace by offering alternative funding through expanded asset-based lending options, equipment financing, leasing and government-guaranteed lending products. For Crestmark’s 20th anniversary in October 2016, the company created a $100,000 scholarship fund to benefit students at OU’s School of Business Administration, awarding $20,000 in scholarships annually for five years.

Previously, Tull was the executive vice president and treasurer of Michigan National Corporation. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan, and a banking degree from the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking. He has served on numerous civic and corporate boards of directors.

Oakland University, located in Rochester, Michigan, has experienced two decades of significant growth in student enrollment, and now has more than 20,500 graduate and undergraduate students. In addition, its reputation for a high quality, affordable education has been recognized at the state, regional and national level. The Princeton Review includes OU’s School of Business Administration in its 2018 edition of “The Best Business Schools” as one of the best schools at which to earn an MBA among 267 schools reviewed.
