GREENSBORO, NC (November 15, 2016) For the first time, Volvo Financial Services USA (VFS) has been certified as a Great Place to Work® by the Great Place to Work Institute®, a global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures.
“Employee engagement is our number one focus area at VFS, and being recognized as a Great Place To Work is a testament to the dedication of every person on our team,” said Tom Guse, President of VFS USA. “In addition to fostering trust through a transparent, inclusive environment, we offer ongoing opportunities for our employees to develop and expand their skills. This culture of learning and adding value helps to empower our team and drive our continued success.”
The review process to become a certified Great Place to Work includes an application which compiles information on company demographics, policies, practices and philosophy. The Great Place to Work Trust Index© Employee Survey was then sent to more than 200 VFS employees across the USA to gather input.
“Our employees are one of our most critical resources, and it was important for their voices to be heard,” said Jes Schneider, Vice President of Human Resources for VFS Region Americas. “Receiving this honor can be attributed mainly to the accomplishments and talent of the extraordinary people who work here.”
A combination of factors contributed to VFS’ Great Place to Work designation, including a strong commitment to wellness programs, active community involvement and excellent employee benefits such as a generous amount of earned time off. But, the overall environment that creates and sustains these practices is best captured in the employee comments within the anonymous survey:
“The overall strong sense of teamwork and community make VFS a great place to work.”
“VFS has the most positive work environment of anywhere I have ever worked.”
“I think the company is unique in the way employees support one another. In good times and/or bad, there is always a huge support system.”
“I think the culture is friendly and people are sincere.”
Great Place to Work Institute research shows that a high-trust, high-performance culture can help a company attract top talent as well as retain talent by promoting respect among colleagues and giving employees a deeper connection to their daily work.
