Recent research suggests that over 317 million pieces of malicious software were created in 2014: a number which will only continue to rise.
 
These attacks take a number of forms and the effects can range from inconvenient to disastrous for a business. In the hands of cyber criminals, this stolen data can be used to commit financial fraud, identity theft and extortion.
