(Chicago, IL) January 20, 2015—Vedder Price is pleased to announce that the firm has been named the “Law Firm of the Year” at the 2015 Aviation 100 Awards, presented by Airline Economics on January 19, 2015 in Dublin. This distinction is based upon a vote of thousands of industry participants and is awarded based on the number and value of deals worked on by the firm, its catalog of aerospace clients and the nature of its aviation department.
Vedder Price was also recognized for its role in the “Overall Deal of the Year” for 2015. The firm served as legal counsel to Castlelake, L.P. in the private securitization of a portfolio of 79 aircraft leased to 26 different lessees located in 17 countries. This deal had many unique features, including aircraft of a vintage significantly older than in prior aircraft securitizations, a large concentration of turboprop aircraft and enhanced servicer flexibility allowing Castlelake to effectively manage the end-of-life portfolio.
