Wells Fargo Capital Finance, part of Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC), has announced that Ryan Birnel has been named business development officer for the loan originations team in Denver, Colorado. In his new role, Birnel is primarily responsible for sourcing and structuring flexible asset-based financings for opportunities originated in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and Montana, and will be reporting to Mark Gustafson, regional sales manager for Wells Fargo Capital Finance.

Birnel has been with Wells Fargo Capital Finance since 2008. His previous Wells Fargo positions included a collateral examiner and a relationship manager, managing a portfolio of fortune 500 clients. Birnel received his bachelor’s degree from Utah Valley University prior to pursuing a Master’s of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from Regis University. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and Risk Management Association.
