Cultivating Authentic, Inclusive and Cross-Generational Leadership

Leadership is not defined by a title; it is shaped by authenticity, relationships, and the ability to inspire others across differences. In this engaging and reflective session, participants will explore what it means to lead with authenticity while fostering inclusive environments that value diverse perspectives and experiences across generations. Drawing from real-world experiences in higher education and organizational settings, this session examines how leaders can build trust, navigate generational differences and create cultures where individuals feel seen, valued and empowered to contribute. Participants will reflect on their own leadership identity, identify practices that strengthen inclusive leadership and develop strategies for effectively leading multigenerational teams in today's  evolving workplace. Whether you are an emering or experienced leader, you will leave with practical tools to communicate across generations, cultivate psychological safety, embrace authenticty as a leadership strength and create enviorments where people of all backgrounds can thrive.

 

About Davon

Davon Dickson, M.Ed. is a higher education leader dedicated to advancing career readiness, experiential learning, and equitable student success. As Director of the Center for Career & Professional Development at La Salle University, he leads institutional initiatives that strengthen employer partnerships, expand internship opportunities, and embed career readiness throughout the student experience. His work focuses on developing innovative, data-informed strategies that connect academic learning with workforce outcomes while enhancing access for first-generation, Pell-eligible, and historically underserved students. A recognized speaker and practitioner-scholar, Davon has presented on topics including authentic leadership, career development, student success, and organizational strategy. He is passionate about building collaborative partnerships across academic affairs, student affairs, employers, and community organizations to create sustainable pathways that prepare students for meaningful careers. Davon is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Higher Education, where his research explores the career advancement of Black professionals at predominantly White institutions (PWIs) and the relationship between organizational culture, institutional policy, leadership, and employee well-being. Through both his scholarship and professional practice, he is committed to advancing inclusive leadership, organizational excellence, and transformative approaches to higher education that create lasting impact for students, professionals, and institutions.
