One of the strengths of the equipment finance industry has always been its ability to recognize opportunity as markets evolve. Technologies change, industries transform, and new investment needs emerge, but our role remains the same: helping businesses invest in what comes next.

This issue's cover story highlights a timely example. As demand for digital infrastructure continues to accelerate, data centers are creating significant opportunities for equipment finance. They also require a deeper understanding of a rapidly evolving market.

Success in sectors like this isn’t simply about financing assets. It requires understanding the broader forces shaping investment decisions, from technological innovation and energy demands to public policy and infrastructure development. As you'll read in our Executive Perspective column, taking that broader view can help organizations better evaluate both opportunity and risk.

Helping members navigate emerging trends like these is central to ELFA’s mission. Last year, the Foundation published a comprehensive research report on data centers that explored market trends, financing considerations, and the forces shaping this growing sector. It's one example of our commitment to providing members with practical insights they can apply in their own businesses.

That same commitment is reflected in ELFA's new Research Agenda. By aligning our research, educational programming, events, and advocacy around the issues members tell us matter most, we’re delivering more connected, forward-looking resources to help our members make informed decisions in an increasingly dynamic business environment.

This issue also recognizes two individuals whose contributions have strengthened our industry. Congratulations to Dominic Liberatore, recipient of the David H. Fenig Distinguished Service in Advocacy Award, and Robert Cohen, recipient of the Edward A. Groobert Award for Legal Excellence. Their leadership and commitment embody the spirit of service that continues to move our industry forward.

I look forward to seeing you in October at the ELFA Annual Convention, where we'll continue these conversations, share ideas, and explore the opportunities shaping the future of equipment finance.
