It’s All About Connection

THERE ARE COUNTLESS REASONS TO BE A MEMBER OF ELFA—and connecting with industry colleagues is a key benefit. In this issue of Equipment Leasing & Finance Magazine we spotlight special opportunities for you to convene with a wide range of industry professionals this fall.

Our largest event of the year, the 61st ELFA Annual Convention, is fast approaching on Oct. 9-11 in Marco Island, Florida. We have seen an overwhelming response from the ELFA community, with robust registration, a sold-out Exhibit Hall and strong sponsor support. With the convention around the corner, many of you are already reviewing the attendee list, planning your networking and business meetings, and consulting the agenda to decide which sessions to attend. Explore what’s on tap at the Convention in the special insert in this issue. Also, preview one of the much-anticipated Convention breakout sessions in our cover story “Climate Financing Heats Up”—one of many hot topics we’ll be discussing on-site.

In the story “Exploring DE&I at ELFA’s Equity Forum,” members of the Equity Committee share what’s on the agenda for the first conference dedicated to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in the equipment finance industry. We’re very excited about this inaugural event, which has been in the works since the Equity Committee was founded in 2019. “We want people to look around the room and say, ‘I see people just like me, and I belong here and in this industry,’” says Equity Committee Chair Scott Thacker. We hope you and members of your team will join us Nov. 6-7 in Washington, D.C.

For additional opportunities to learn and network, don’t forget to check out ELFA’s new Career Pathways leadership development program. We’ve packaged together a wide range of resources—events and training, networking, volunteering, business intelligence—according to your experience level and areas of interest, all designed to help you navigate each phase of your career. Recognizing an Outstanding Volunteer
We extend congratulations to an extraordinary member who will be recognized at the ELFA Annual Convention. Brittany Ogden will receive the 2022 Michael J. Fleming Distinguished Service Award. Brittany’s many contributions—from lending her expertise on industry legal matters to supporting the association’s advocacy program—are a perfect example of the kind of volunteer member engagement this award was established to recognize. We couldn’t be an effective organization without the efforts of volunteer members like Brittany. Thank you as always for your continued support and participation.
