ORS 30.920 applies to liability of a seller or lessor of "any product in a defective condition unreasonably dangerous to the user or consumer."

Cases

"A party who sells or leases any product in a defective condition unreasonably dangerous to the user or consumer is subject to liability for physical harm or damage to property caused by that condition, if: the lessor is engaged in the business of leasing such a product; and the product reaches the user or consumer without substantial change in the condition in which it was leased.; ORS 30.920.Fulbright v. Klamath Gas Co., 271 Or. 449 (1975), the court found that defendants, who were in the business of selling propane gas and related gas appliances, were liable for a potato vine burner they loaned to the plaintiff with the purchase of fuel for the burner.

Product liability claims must be based on more than mere economic loss without physical injury or destruction of property.Russell v. Deere Co., 186 Or. App. 78 (2003)."
