"Whoever provides engineering or land surveying services with respect to real estate, or contributes to the improvement of real estate, including contributing equipment, shall have a lien upon such improvement. Minn. Stat. §514.01 .

A person or entity with a debt secured by a perfected or unperfected security interest in seasonal use machinery that is subject to mediation who engages in mediation as a result of a debtor's default on a purchase money loan or contract, has a lien limited to the lesser of the total of principal and interest amounts required to bring the debt current until the stay of the creditor's enforcement action is lifted; the reasonable rental value of seasonal use machinery that is used for field operation during mediation until the stay of the creditor's enforcement action is lifted. Minn. Stat. §514.661.

Whoever, at the request of the owner or legal possessor of any personal property, stores or cares for the property, has a lien on the property for the price or value of storage, care, or contribution, and for certain legal charges, and the right to retain possession of the property until such lien is lawfully discharged. Even if the person claiming the lien no longer has possession of the property upon which the lien is claimed, the person entitled to the lien may preserve it upon giving notice of the lien at any time within 60 days after the surrender or loss of possession. The lien is valid against everyone except a good faith purchase or encumbrancer without notice prior to the filing of the lien statement and who has filed a statement of interest in the appropriate filing office. Minn. Stat. §514.18

A lient and right of detainer exists for all items listed in Minn. Stat. §514.19.

The owner of a self-service storage facility has a lien against the occupant on the personal property stored under a rental agreement in a storage space at the self-service storage facility or the proceeds of the property. Minn. Stat. §514.972

The UCC provides that a personal property lien on property actually in the lienor's possession has priority over a security interest in the good, unless a statute provides otherwise. Minn. Stat. §336.9-333."

§514.17 provides that whoever performs labor, furnishes material, etc. as to a mine shall have a lien for the value thereof upon the interest of the owner or lessee of the mine. §514.40 – logging lien. §514.59 – employee's lien against employer's property as security for the employee's wages for the last 6 months not to exceed $1,000 or for 5 weeks of net pay, whichever is greater, subject to a maximum of $3,000.00. §514.661 – lien for rental value of farm machinery during mediation. §514.67 – governmental services lien. §514.672 – environmental cleanup lien. §514.68 – lien for hospital charges. §514.77 –launderers lien. §514.93 – veterinarian's lien. §§514.945, 514.963, 514.966 – agricultural producer's lien; lien on crops, lien on livestock. §514.981 – medical assistance lien. §514.99 – nonconsensual common law liens – a nonconsensual common law lien means a purported lien that is not provided for by a specific state or federal statute, is not consented to by the owner of the property affected, and is not a court-imposed equitable or constructive lien. NOTE: All liens under Chapter 514 are assignable and may be asserted and enforced by the assignee, or by the personal representative of any holder thereof in case of the holder's death. Other statutory liens include: Minn. Stat. §327.76 – innkeeper's lien on the valuable, baggage, or other property of a guest brought into the hotel for proper charges due on the account of the guest's accommodations and for the cost of enforcing the lien. Minn. Stat. §27.137-.138 – Wholesale Produce Dealer Act (the Minnesota version of the federal PACA statute) – produce and products of produce of a wholesale produce dealer and their proceeds are held in trust for the benefit of unpaid sellers of the produce. Minn. Stat. §481.13 – lien for attorneys' fees – this is a charging lien in which an attorney has a lien for compensation, whether the agreement to pay attorneys fees is express or implied, upon a cause of action and/or a judgment. Minn. Stat. §236.06 – grain elevator lien. Minn. Stat. §343.29 – prevention of cruelty of animals lien for the actual costs of care and keeping an animal removed from an owner.
