"All real and personal property liable to be taken on execution may be attached upon a writ of attachment in any action in which the debt or damages are recoverable so long as the debt or damages are more then $20. M.G.L. c. 223, §42.
Limited exemptions to attachment are found in M.G.L. c. 223, §43; M.G.L. c. 223, §44; M.G.L. c. 223, §44A; M.G.L. c. 223, §45; and M.G.L. c. 235, §34.
An attachment may not be made for more than the claim plus reasonable interest and taxed costs. M.G.L. c. 223, §42A."
