Artisan/Mechanics' Liens

"A contractor, a subcontractor, a mechanic, a lessor leasing construction and other equipment and tools, a journeyman, a laborer, or any other person performing labor or furnishing materials or machinery, including the leasing of equipment or tools, for certain purposes may have a lien. (IC 32-28-3-1)
A person may enforce a lien by filing a timely complaint in the circuit or superior court of the county where the real estate or property is situated. If the lien is foreclosed, the court rendering judgment shall order a sale to be made of the property subject to the lien. (IC 32-28-3-6)
