Cases
A lender owes a borrower a duty when the lender undertakes to place insurance. When it requires insurance and requires the borrower to pay for the insurance, the lender must act in a reasonably careful manner. Wellens v. Perpetual Bldg. Assn, 184 A.2d 36, 38 (D.C. 1962).
