Statutes

Colorado does not have artisan lien provisions, but does have statutes governing General Mechanics' Liens. Provisions covering Mechanics' Liens are contained within C.R.S. 38-22.

Every person who furnishes or supplies laborers, machinery, tools, or equipment, and mechanics, materialmen, contractors, subcontractors, builders, and all persons performing labor or furnishing materials, and also architects, engineers, draftsmen, and artisans have a lien on the related property. Requires contracts to be in writing and contain specified information (C.R.S. 38-22-101)

Provisions providing for liens on equipment are contained within C.R.S. 38-24.
