Company Continues to Advocate for Advancement of Women Across Male-Dominated Industries
FORT LAUDERDALE (August 30, 2022) – Fleet Advantage, a leading innovator in truck fleet business analytics, equipment financing, and life cycle cost management (LCCM) announced today it is now a member of the Women In Manufacturing Association (WiM), a national and global trade association dedicated to providing year-round support to women who have chosen a career in the manufacturing industry.
Over the course of the last decade, Women In Manufacturing has encompassed manufacturers of all types from every job function (production to the C-Suite), representing more than 2,000 manufacturing companies across multiple industries. The organization continues to build a strong community working toward a world in which a diverse and inclusive manufacturing sector offers equitable opportunities and rewarding careers for all people. However, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce, while women make up about 47% of the total workforce, they only make up about 30% percent of the 15.8 million people employed in manufacturing industries, and only 1 in 4 manufacturing leaders are women.
As Fleet Advantage is also a recent member of the Women In Trucking Association (WiT), the company is a strong example of advocating for the advancement of women across many of the male-dominated industries, such as transportation and manufacturing. The company today offers a workforce represented by 40% female and 37% minority professionals on its staff, which has added to the long-term success of the business by bringing fresh ideas, perspectives, and viewpoints into the workplace.
A constant advocate of helping women in the transportation industry, Fleet Advantage’s Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Katerina Jones, most recently addressed “the value of mentorship for women in Manufacturing.net, also promoted by the Women In Manufacturing association. Jones was also selected as a 2022 Top Women to Watch in Transportation by Women In Trucking earlier this year, along with Fleet Advantage Senior Fleet Transaction Analyst and Project Manager, Jackie Jacobs, CLFP.
