The Independent Best Practices Roundtable is a small, highly-interactive half-day program designed to bring senior executives together for information sharing and critical thinking about the issues facing you each day as leaders of your organization. The roundtable will also provide unparalleled networking opportunity.

The roundtable will be held from noon-4:30pm on Tuesday, April 10th, immediately preceding the National Funding Conference. It will begin with a joint luncheon with the attendees of the Bank and Captive and Vendor Finance Roundtables.

Christopher Enbom, CLFP

Christopher A. Enbom is the founder and CEO of Allegiant Partners Incorporated, a direct funding source for middle-market "story" credits. Allegiant sources all of its business from third party sources. Mr. Enbom originally created the business idea, wrote the business plan, raised debt and equity capital and has overseen the company since its inception in 1998.
Mr. Enbom has spent fifteen years in the leasing industry, both in Japan and in the San Francisco Bay Area. Before founding Allegiant Partners, Mr. Enbom was a Managing Director in the Structured Finance/Leasing Group at CIBC World Markets structuring, marketing and closing "big ticket" leases. While working for ten years in the "big ticket" leasing arena, Mr. Enbom was directly responsible for closing numerous domestic U.S. and cross-border transactions worth several billion dollars.
Mr. Enbom is an active member of a number of industry associations. He currently serves as President of the National Equipment Finance Association (NEFA) as well as Chair of the Small Ticket Business Council Steering Committee for the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA).
He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Political Economy.

Brian Eschmann

Brian joined Trans Lease as President in March 2010 bringing more than 15 years of experience in financial services focused primarily on the transportation industry. Prior to joining Trans Lease, Brian was Vice President, Global Sales for PowerTrack, a division of U.S. Bancorp delivering an automated business-to-business payment solution that processed more than $20B in freight payments annually. Prior to U.S. Bancorp, Brian held numerous management positions within the financial services arm of Schneider National, including building a $100MM commercial lease portfolio of transportation equipment and managing three branch offices for Schneider Finance, a wholly-owned equipment leasing and finance company. Brian holds a BBA from St. Norbert College and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Daniel J. Krajewski is the President & CEO of Sertant Capital, LLC and leads all aspects of the business and execution of its strategic plan. Dan has over 30 years of experience in the financial services and equipment finance industry and has had leadership roles in large organizations as well as mid-level privately held commercial finance companies. Prior to joining Sertant, Dan held positions with GE Capital, CIT Commercial Finance, Direct Capital, Banc of California and several other equipment finance companies. Dan has been a long-time member of ELFA, NAELB and NEFA. With the ELFA, Dan has served on several committees including Chair of the Vendor and Captive Finance Subcommittee.

Jeff Nelson is a Managing Director and Initiative Leader for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s Like Kind Exchange (LKE) and Tax Depreciation Services (TDS) practice. In that role Jeff has been a leader in developing and implementing creative tax solutions that enable companies to take advantage of automated fixed asset solutions for all types of business and investment assets. Included among Jeff’s clients are numerous companies in banking, lease/finance, vehicle fleet management, trucking and machinery and equipment rentals.  
Before joining PwC as a Senior Managing Director, Jeff practiced as a Tax Partner in the Real Estate/Construction Services Group of a large regional CPA firm. Jeff is a frequent national speaker and author on the topic of Like Kind Exchanges for business and investment property. Jeff received his BSB in Accounting at the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management and his Masters of Tax (MST) from DePaul University in Chicago.

MARILYN A. WETHEKAM is a partner at Horwood Marcus & Berk, Chartered in Chicago. Marilyn co-chairs the firm's nationally recognized multistate State and Local Tax practice. She has a national SALT practice representing multistate and multinational corporations in all areas of state tax. In 2010 she was named as the second recipient of the Council on State Taxation's Paul Frankel Excellence in State Taxation Award. She received the 2012 Bloomberg BNA, Frank Latcham Award for Distinguished Service in State and Local Tax Law and was named one of the 2016 Outstanding Women in Tax by Tax Notes.

Marilyn advises her clients on multistate tax issues that involve income, franchise and transaction taxes. Her eighteen years of corporate tax experience with Mobil Oil Corporation and Montgomery Ward & Co. provide her with an understanding of the complex issues encountered by multistate and multinational corporations. This understanding allows her to develop innovative solutions for multistate tax issues as well as the practical resolution of multi-jurisdictional tax disputes. She has formulated multistate audit strategies, drafted legislation, and represented multistate and multinational corporations in income, franchise, transactional tax matters in more than thirty five states. In addition, she has worked with clients to develop organizational structures that incorporate both an understanding of the business needs and address tax burdens.

Marilyn is a frequent speaker before such groups as the Council on State Taxation (COST), Georgetown University Institute on State and Local Taxation; The Paul J. Hartman State Tax Forum; Tax Executives Institute; and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT). She is on the Steering Committee for IPT's State Business Income Taxation book.

Getting There
The Swissôtel is a downtown hotel located in Illinois Center overlooking Lake Michigan, five minutes from I-55 and I-90/94. The hotel is within walking distance of the downtown business district and the Magnificent Mile. The Swissôtel is 18 miles, 30 minutes, from O'Hare International Airport. The Airport Express Shuttle bus is available every 30 minutes for $27 per person one way, and taxis are about $40. The hotel is 12 miles, 20 minutes, from Midway Airport; the airport bus runs every 30 minutes for $21 per person one way.
