ELFA released its MLFI-25 on April 23 and the data attracted the attention of FOX Business News. Commenting on the overall domestic and international economy and the equipment finance sector, ELFA President Ken Bentsen was interviewed simultaneous with the release of the durable goods orders. Ken discussed the "crisis of confidence in the economy" and described the "supply-side recession which began in the housing sector and which has seized up the credit markets affecting all financial sectors." When asked how the equipment finance sector interprets the durables report, Bentsen noted "Big manufacturers are selling and financing product abroadÉcompanies such as the Cats and the DeersÉwhere there is still significant demand which complements things which may not be as strong in the US market. Overall, things may not be as bad as they seem," said Bentsen.
